  • quick oi question

i just recently bought a 97 gti and on the side of the oil cap it says never to use tcw or tcw-III oil. i have had a 92 gtx for a couple of years and have always run penzoil oil which is tcw-III. the guy that sold me the ski gave me a gallon of mystic synthetic oil. why is TCW-III oil so highly not recommended in the new 97gti. what happens if i mix and what damage can i cause. both skis run perfect right now.

    Re: quick oi question

API certified oil is the oil sea-doo tells you to use and the reason is that the engines rotary shaft uses a brass gear that rides on a steel gear on the crank shaft, the API oil can handle the heat and the wear between the gears better than regular tcw oils. If you want your rotay valved engine to last a long time use an oil that is API rated.
