Code PO344 Cam phase sensor signal missing

Hello Folks

My 2006 Sea doo RXP SC is showing a code PO344 which indicates a cam phase sensor signal missing. I was riding the ski and out of the blue it stopped running and I coasted to a stop. The engine turns over but it acts like it has no compression.
Took the Spark plugs out and I can see the pistons going up & down, the drive shaft turning. Yes it does have oil. it just turns over easy like no compression. The ski has a 120 hrs.

sounds like a broken timing chain, pull the valve cover and see whats uo.

Removed the valve cover this morning and unfortunity the timing chain was broken. Is this the type of engine that will damage the valve train if the timing chain breaks?

Yes, valves will bend when the chain breaks.
