after oil change

I have a 2007 Sea Doo GTX after I change the oil do I have to take the machine to the dealer to reset the the maintaince light. The dealer tells me it has to go on the computer to be reset and if I keep on running the machine it will go into slow mode.

Shouldn't go into slow (Limp) mode unless there is actually something wrong with the ski. The only way to clear the maint code is via the dealer.
