WHERE CAN I OBTAIN A FLYWHEEL REMOVAL TOOL FOR MY 787 RFI MOTOR?

• #2
A universal flywheel (harmonic balancer or steering wheel puller can be used) puller fits fine, just remove 3 of the cup bolts. If you want the actual thread on tool, you need to order one through your dealer.

I HAVE A UNIVERSAL PULLER. THE BOLTS THAT HOLD THE CUP IN PLACE ARE A WEIRD 7MM FINE THREAD BOLT. I HAVE 2 PULLER SETS MATCO AND SNAP ON AND ALL THE BOLTS THAT COME WITH THEM BOTH METRIC AND STANDARD DONT MATCH THE THREADS. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THE THREADS ARE DIFFERENT THAN ANY OTHER BOLT ON THE MOTOR. 7MM BY 33 THREAD. VERY UNCOMMON. NO HARDWARE STORE CARRIES THAT THREAD SIZE.

We get our pullers from Discount Auto down the street for $18, and the bolts that come with it fit fine. Try a Lowes, Home Depot, etc.

YEA I HAVE TRIED LOWES HOME DEPOT AND TRUE VALUE HARDWARE. AND A FEW AUTO PARTS. NONE OF THEM CARRY 7MM BY 33 THREAD BOLTS. NAPA AUTO PARTS SAID SPECIAL ORDER ONLY. I HAVE PULLED MANY FLYWHEELS ON SEADOO YAMAHA KAWASAKI AND NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM. GUESS I WILL ORDER THE $43.00 TOOL FROM SEADOO.

I'm not sure of the thread pitch but I don't recall it being anything unsual. Have you actually taken a bolt to the store to match or are you just going off what the dealer told you? We have no problem finding any watercraft fastners.

It is the standard 6mm thread and pitch.

Here's the best PWC flywheel puller ever made!

Or you could just take it to your dealer and have them pull it off. It shouldn't cost much.

IT IS A 7MM! WITH A STRANGE PITCH. I TOOK IT TO THE AUTO PARTS AND THEY MEASURED AGAINST SOME NUTS THEY HAD IN THE BIN. DEFIANTLY 7MM. 6 SLIPS OFF. THANKS FOR THE REPLY CHESTER BUT THE NEAREST DEALER IS 85 MILES AWAY. I FINALLY GOT IT OFF. I FABRICATED SOME BOLTS WITH MY DIE SET TO MATCH THE THREADS ON THE FLYWHEEL AND THEN USED MY NORMAL PULLER. THANKS FOR ALL THE RESPONSES.

Have you been the only owner.....they could have been tapped the next size up if they were stripped out. Just a suggestion
