  • 787 rear seal?

Does the seal that is behind the PTO come out from the back, or does it have to go in as the motor is assembled?

I have an aluminum ring behind the seal that appears to be part of the case. It is paper thin but I am afraid to remove it.

I had to heat my flywheel to remove it so I wanted to replace this seal. My repair manual does not cover this operation.

    Thanks for any help.

My book says you have to split the case.

Correct, the bottom of the case needs to be split, all the sealer needs to be removed, and the seals replaced if you do so.
