Change carbon ring on 2008 wake 215

I have changed several older Seadoo carbon rings but can't get the newer ones apart at the driveshaft. Anyone know a trick to it?

If the shaft has rust on it then you may have to use a die grinder to cut if off. Cut through the stainless flange and pry it off.
