787 shuttirng off and now wont start

I have a 97 seadoo challenger 1800 i put a motor in put it in the water fired right up went about 200 yrds and motor died hit the start button started right back up went a little further and died again. Now it wont start have spark at plugs and can smell gas. can anyone help thought if you had spark and fuel it should run

Check the timing and compression then report back.

i checked both and found i have no compression on pto side. Thank you for your help..looks like i have to rebuild it again....must of did something wrong
