GTS Vent?

Just installed an engine in a 98 GTS. I have one hose that I don't know where it goes. It's connected to the black box located in the top rear of the engine compartment under the seat. Appears to be an air vent. Is this a vent hose? Does it connect to anything or is is supposed to lay loose in the hull?

Battery vent line.

Just to verify, the battery should vent to this box in the rear of the ski?

When I bought the ski (used) the battery vent line just layed loose in the hull.

It ultimately vents outside the hull, so the hydrogen gas doesn't pool in the hull and possible explode.

No where, it's a vent IN.
