I got what I believe is to be a GTI possibly a 96, with Dual carbs. When removing the oil pump, can I also remove the fitting in the lower half the motor , and the oil tank completely? Gonna go pre mix ofcourse and found the ratio on here already. I know two strokes don't have crankcase oil, so I figure I can remove the fitting and all the oil tank components, but wanted to check with guys that know. Thanks in advance AW1

Re: Removing oil lines and installing a SBT block off kit
The 2 fittings on the center part of the crank case on each side need to stay in place, oil must stay in this center cavity of the case, you have gears that are seperate from the connecting rods and need to be in an oil bath. You can loop with hose 1 side to the other, just make sure oil stays in the center of the case. The injector pump and tank can be removed and then you would do your pre mixing.SBT Tech Support is here to help with your problems.

Re: Removing oil lines and installing a SBT block off kit
I better go look for that other fitting,as I only saw the one... So what your saying is to take the hose and connect it to both fittings, leaving whatever oil that is in there in there? Does this oil need to be replenished at any particular time? Is there a way to make sure there is enough in there ? Is it not advised to just leave the supply line that goes to the bottom fitting(below the carbs) hooked up. I noticed that when I pulled the bolt I used to plug the other line that went to the pump , when pulling carbs no oil flowed out of it till I flipped the gas selector on? Basically , I'm going to do what ya said, Just need to know if that oil will ever need to be replenished, so I can warn the owner.. Sorry for the dorko questions..lol
