  • 2001 Seadoo GS and no spark.

New at this so please excuse my not being very articulate. Purchase ski which I enjoyed for a total of 15 minutes. The engine quit, where I then checked for spark and found I had none. Checked for voltage coming out of the stator and get only 11 to 12 volts. Best I can tell battery is fully charged, connections good. Stator power by the manual states it should produce 18 to 24 volts while cranking and it cranks very well. Thanks in advance.

Check the small ground wire coming off the battery, you may have to cut it back and replace the ring connector.

Replaced entire ground wire and now I have plenty of spark. Thank you! but still not starting, plugs have been coated with a grey mixture of oil and looks like water droplets. Blew this out the best i could and sprayed some starting fluid in both cylinders and still no hint of trying to start. Did use 5 gallons of Ethanol free gas when I first took it out and it was mayby 7 months old. I figured I would at least get the motor to fire a little by spraying a little starting fluid in. Thanks again.

Finally at last, after a week of continuous reading and rebuilding my recently purchased 2001 seadoo GS, I found the problem! A cracked block don't ya know, but I can tell you all it did not come easily, while rebuilding the carburetor I noticed a loose bolt that holds the rotary valve on Which I might ad had just been replaced per previous owner and when I tightened her up a fisher began to form before thine eyes and out came the oil. I have been known to trust just a little to much, but what ya gonna do? Buy a new motor I suppose!
