We recently received a top end exchange from SBT. Looks like the cylinder was bored for .50 Pistons. In reading the Shop Manual for our ski (2002 GTX DI) it looks like we need to machine our RAVE valves. What is the proper procedure for the machining and how much do we need to take off?

Re: RAVE Valve
In most cases .50 will not need rave valve cutting, install the valve and check clearance between the cylinder wall and the valve edge. 14 thou clearance is good between the 2 parts.SBT Tech Support is here to help with your problems.

Someone from SBT told us a couple weeks ago that we need to take.02 off with a dremel tool. But your saying as long as the rings do not hit the RAVE valve we should be ok??
