  • New engine break in

Have a 1999 Gtx rfi with a new engine from SBT. 787. I have read about the proper break in procedure. I've seen multiple post about mixing the oil with the gas for the 1st tank. It sounded like your recommendation was to not do that. Correct? If I did it could damage the injectors? Is the alternative to adjust the oil from the reservoir?

Yep, Don't pre mix any sea-doo engine it will cause damage to the injectors, you should not have to adjust the oil pump, you could put a small amount of oil down through the spark plug holes on the first start up.

Thanks. One other issue I'm working on. Got the engine installed and runs great on the trailer. Can rev quickly up to 2500 rpms easy. Put it in the water (either on the trailer or off) and it barely starts and/or won't exceed 1800 rpm's. Basically barely moves. Thought I would ask before I dove in to see what I missed or what is wrong. Thanks.
