  • How do I test my stator?

I have a '99 Sea Doo GTX RFI. I'm getting a 12V Low warning. If the Doo sits up for more than a couple weeks, it will start but run rough. If I kill it, it won't restart. I'm having to make sure and charge the battery after each ride.

I've replaced the regulator/rectifier and battery. I'm still getting the 12V Low warning. I want to check the stator but don't know how.

The repair manual says to connect a 6-pin magneto harness adapter (P/N 295 000 136) to the magneto wiring harness. I don't have any such adapter.

How can I check the stator without this special adapter.

Step-by-step instructions, including how to set my multi-meter, would be greatly appreciated.

You cant test it without having the harness # 295-000-131, Not 136 into the stator plug unless you remove the stator cover and probe out the wires behind it, then follow the repair manual that you have all the colors stay the same and the manual tells you to set the multimeter to Vac scale.
