  • Blown Engine on 94 GTX

I just finished with the breakin period on my 94 GTX and while heading through the lake at mabey 70% throttle the engine lost all power and stalled. Immediatly I figured the worst. After struggling to get it running again I gave up and got towed to shore. Later compression test showed 135 psI on the PTO and 90 psi on the mag. A definate problem. Can anyone tell me what might have casued this. Both plugs were dry and black, the lows are at 2 turns and the highs I am unsure of yet. How can I prevent this from happening again. What should my base settings be for the highs and lows to start.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

    Lows 1 1/4, highs 0.

Chances are the carbs are clogged up and any subsequient motor that you install will do similiarly.
