pump assy seadoo 2000 gti

installed cone to new pump assy from sbt, do you use same pusher etc on smaller
cone pump came with?
also when put cone on went very tight, before put oil in turned impeller couple of times, took apart found brass filings on pusher,
cleaned out, put oil in tightened screws to spec and impeller turns real hard.
could bearings not be put in right with shaft?
