  • HMMMM would this work ?

Getting ready to start my winter months. On and outboard motor I hook a bilge pump in a 5 gallon bucket of anti-freeze with the ears on the Lower Unit and start it to circulate the anti-freeze.\

Could I do the same with the flush kit say on a 96XP ... would the antifreeze go everywhere it needs to be to keep the motor protected ????
Thanks for All the Help !<br />Blaine

The ski will not circulate the fluid on its own,
you need to pump it. I use an electric sump pump. You could probably figure a way to gravity feed as well.

By the way you need a pretty big bucket to catch it all, just in case you hadn't thought to watch where all the water goes when flushing normally.

Do you block that lower hose to keep the antifreeze in the cylinders?

I would think it would all just drain out via those fittings @ the bottom of the cylinders...???

I just let it drain out. Really you are protecting against the possability that maybe there is a bit of water trapped in a low spot -- it might be overkill but I feel better.
