  • Compression on 94 GTX 657

Hi! Original owner, yes, a more than a few WOT bogs over it's lifetime before I knew about the inlet filters. Freshwater only. One run away when fairly new due to over-fogging. Currently waiting on carb parts from SBT since I figured time to replace diaphrams after 21 years! Last ride it was fine and still getting top speed. With manifold off and a bit of seadoo lube on rotary and a tywrap on shaft to prevent rotary from coming off, I decided to check compression and sickened to find 120 on pto side and 140 on mag. A little shot of lube in each sparkplug hole yielded same results. I would REALLY like to get it back together and get another season out of it, keeping an eye on the compression. Is this advisable or am I playing with disaster? Thanks!...Tim
