  • Sea Doo Front cylinder keeps filling with water

99 GTX Limited 951. Recently submerged.

Drained hull. Pulled spark plugs, cycled till dry, install new plugs.
Started fine, then turned on hose water. Rev's nice. Turned off hose water , ran engine until no water running out back (~ 10 seconds) then turned engine off.

Next day front cylinder is full of water again. No water accumulated in hull.

Repeated all steps (except didn't submerge it again.....). Again, front cylinder full of water.
Do I have an exhaust gasket leak?
    What else could it be?

    Thanks guys.

Compression test last night revealed 120 Front, 125 Rear.
Next step is to remove the exhaust and hope the gasket is the culprit. Stay tuned....

Ran it on the lake last night. Not good. Won't go over 10 MPH and won't rev up at all.
Pulled plugs and this time they are dry so the water has been purged.

Is there a "lip home" mode or similar on this Sea Doo that I can reset?

Re: Sea Doo Front cylinder keeps filling with water

The water issue has been resolved, but I still can't get more than 3400 RPM in the water (runs good on the hose).
Rear plug gets fouled a bit, front not looks perfect. Rear RAVE had soem slime build-up but I cleaned that up.

No mechanical issues I can see in the pump, the 3400 RPM is so consistent it still seems like the MPEM has it in a limp mode. It's dual carbed, so I don't know if that mode even exists.

No feedback from the forum to date, does anyone have any suggestions?

          Water in fuel?
          Restriction in exhaust?
Debris stuck in needle valve in carb?

            All better now.
A piece of the reed for the front cylinder broke off and was the culprit. A replacement from SBT resolved it.
