My Seadoo repair manual tells me that the spacer on the rotary valve shaft needs a spot of Permatex 648 on it. It was free when I pulled the shaft out (with a stripped brass gear. I have searched the web for confirmation that it is required or still recommended and can't find any discussion. I don't have any of that solution and am ready to assemble and wonder if I should sweat not using any adhesive.
Also, there was no shim washer on it so I bought one and am planning to put that in there when I assemble it. It's such a slight thickness, I don't know what function it serves next to a precision spacer in the first place. Any advice from the veterans would be appreciated. Thanks.
