  • 96 SPX Impeller damage what else should I fix

The wife decided to get a real close look at the shore last weekend and sucked up at least a couple of rocks the size of walnuts. At least that's how big they were afterward. Anyway, I'm sending the impeller in for rework and planned on replacing the wear ring since it's chewed up pretty good. What else should I replace while I have it all apart? Also, do I really need all the special greases and loctites or are there generic substitutes?

    Thanks

Look at the impeller housing stator vanes. If any are missing or broken, replace.

Also the Impeller nose seal, o-ring, tailcone pusher assembly, Thrust Bearing.

Get the seadoo synthetic oil, it's worth it.

Get the seadoo syntetic grease, it's worth it.

You can sub blue silicone for the locktite 515.

You can sub blue threadlocker for the locktite 242.

Plut grease on the thrust bearing during reassembly t avoid the bearing slipping into the shaft groove and pinching.....
