Never said gas only on the plugs, i said it was more oil than anything.

I'll figure it out, but i can't see spending another 100.00 on rebuild kits and 60.00-70.00 on needles and seats when they were just done. Hell, i'll start easy, put known good gas in it. Maybe the fuel is bad.

Anyways, thanks for all the replys

you can test your popoff for free :) and tell if the N/S is leaking for free and if you go though the carbs and they check out then you know its not a carb problem . have you done a compression test and spark test ? also you can do a leakdown test and check for a leaking inner seal .

its also possable if you have last seasons fuel in it AND a QT of breakin oil its just to much for it to burn . todays fuel breaks down very fast .

Thats wnat i'm thinking.....bad fuel. I added stabilizer last year but not the right way.....i dumped it in the tank and shook the ski the best i could(my bad)

Compression, battery, and good spark check out.

I honestley don't believe it's the carbs. So, gonna siphon the gas out and clear the lines and put fresh gas in, then reprime the lines, on top of fresh plugs. If that don't work......the carbs it is, but like i said they were just gone through, and no gas sat in them over the winter.

Just didn't think it could be bad fuel, cause i have used last years fuel before, and never had a problem.

        Thanks for all the input

          steve,
even though they have been through before, could have been a minor thing and the guy didn't tighten it down right or it wasn't put in correctly. Stuff like that can happen.
You do not have to buy any new parts to rebuild, just make sure everything is on correctly.
Hell, siphon that gas out and put new gas in it. Its better to be safe than sorry.
          Good luck buddy,

Shooter, i did them myself last year, and it ran great.

I'm gonna start with the bad fuel thing, then if that don't help i will tear the carbs apart and go through them.

I really, really don't think it's the carbs........i put 50+ hours on those carbs after the rebuild and it worked great.

I'll let ya guys know, and if i'm wrong, i'll apoligize for being an idiot.

            thanks shooter

Ok, let in sit for a couple days.....went to start it, it fired right up with the choke and stayed running. It blew an abnormal amount of smoke out the rear.

I know i have asked this a million times, but does this sound like it's getting over oiled(maybe i put to much break in oil in)?

Just wanna be sure before i tear this thing apart again.

                Thanks

Well, an EXTREME amount of oil could do that - how much did you mix, and how exactly did you add it to the ski?

well, i had 1/4 tank in it already and just dumped it down the tank and shook the crap out of the ski.

Mixed the rest with 3 gallons of gas. Was some left, so i would estimate 30 oz. to 6.5 gallons of gas

take off your fuel bowl and look at the fuel , if its really dark with oil , its to much .if so , suckout the fuel and put fresh fuel in no oil and see if it runs ok .if so then add the proper amount .

If you have 30oz in 6.5 gallons of gas, that comes out to about 28:1 plus the oil injection pump. That seems like an awful lot of oil to me.

It sounds like #1 you have way too much oil, and #2 that is no way to mix your oil. In the future, you need to siphon tank out and mix it in a 5 gallon container, shaking it all around before dumping it. Pouring oil in the ski and rocking it around or driving it doesn't mix it whatsoever. It's very possible you sucked up a nice pocket of oil.

Ok tech, i figured i messed up(knew doing that was gonna come back and bite me in the ***).

But i mixed it according to your instructions on the break in oil.

Anyways, i think we can all say i have an oil problem. Question is, what do i do? Will the excess oil eventually work itself out, or do i need to drain the tank and yank the carbs and clean them?
