  • What kind of pistons?

Wiseco, pro-x or oem. What are the differences and what do you recommend? Thanks I have a 951 at 89mm bore.

Put some SBT pistons in it.

Just curious Bill, what are the advantages of SBT pistons over the other choices?
      Thanks,
      Stephen

They are as good or better as the others, the price is right and they are coated pistons. Click on the products page here at SBT.... Read it for yourself.

Thanks Bill, my motors been bored twice and it's at 89mm now can i bore again or should i get new sleeves. A local shop rebuilt the top end of my 951 and put prok filters and pro reeds and said it should'nt need rejetting. All i know is that after 10 tanks of gas my cylinders and pistons are scuft up and i think its because of the lean mixture. Can i buy the pistons and sleeves matched up from sbt or do i have to have a machine shop hear bore them for me?

You cannot buy sleeves then bore them before you install them. They must be installed first into the clyinder.

You could buy oversized pistons from SBT, then get the clyinder bored to fit the pistons at a local shop.

Do you know what the limit is that i can go? At 89 now, sbt has bigger?

Click on products, then click on the catalog, then click on Silver 951, then read the piston choices. Part # 47-108-3 is a 1.5mm oversized piston kit.

Am I Just losing the chance of reusing my sleeves by going 1.5MM?
Or is there a potential performance enhancement if i increased the compression along with the bigger pistons.

I appreciate the info Bill, one last question and i'll get out of your hair, my seadoo manual shows 5 different base gaskets, a 3,4,5,6,8mm. The local seadoo shop says all they show are the 5,6,8mm. Would you know any thing about this or were i could check?
