97 xp hard to start

I have a 97 xp runs fine good compression,but when you turn it off and leave the gas on its real hard to start,and if you turn the gas off while its sits and back on it it starts after a few seconds but smokes (blue smoke)a lot when it fires up any suggestions?

when was the last time you changed
your spark plugs ?
maybe they are fouling out

Yes, that is a symptom of leaky needles and seats allright.
