Ok, this is my last post on this, them i'm done.

Took it again today, did something different......didn't run it on the trailor at the lake, just dumped it in. It started up, had to feather it but it went. Ran awesome for 15 miniutes again. Did something else different to.......pulled the lanyard at WOT, tryed to start it, it started but would not go.

Ok, idled it back to shore, sure as ****, plugs were fouled as hell. Also, that Rave valve coated my block and exhaust with oil.

Put a brand new set of plugs in and tryed again. Took forever to start it, then it still would not go with fresh plugs.

I flat out give up, i'm just annoyed now.

carbs or engine? cause i'm not gonna tear it apart if there is a chance it is the engine and SBT will warranty it.

do the leak down on the rotory lines , if its not that i would say its in your carbs .

will do, but why am i spewing oil out of my mag RAVE valve(second motor) i have had this issue. I'm telling you, and i have alot of mechanic friends that tell me the same, it is not the carbs.

and why does it run good at high and mid rpms, pull the lanyard and boom.......nothing, won't go.

Minimum these rave valve assemblys are shot, it soaked my block with dark nasty *** oil. It smokes like a chimney.

No offense to SBT, cause you have been awesome to me.......but ****.......this is the second motor where i have had a RAVE issue.

the rave wont couse a smoke or oil problem BUT the oil problem will couse the raves to leak and clogg up and make a mess :-( the only thing you can do is pull the raves and clean them and seal them up . the leakdown will tell a lot , if your seals are good the problem is else where , most of the time when the seals go bad your motor lockes up with oil . have you checked your oil pump to make sure its working proper ? it could be dumping to much oil , or if the cable is stuck open ?

Its a brand new OEM oil pump, and it is adjusted properly...the 2 tick marks line up.

Anyways. i have gone down the list.

                  1. gas tank drained from the excess oil being dumped in, fresh fuel times 2 tanks since.

                  2. checked the oil pump and cable, all is good there.

                  3. Carbs were rebuild last year, and ran fine on the existing engine.

                  4. timing is ok, cause why would it run good at mid and high rpms.

What else am i missing, other than the engine itself?

I will do a leakdown test on tuesday, can't get a gauge until the shops open again.

Is there any other possibilities for this problem?

Ok guys, took it for one last ride before i tear it apart.

Didn't start it in the driveway, or on the trailor at the lake...just dumped it in. Hit the start button, it backfired once.....so i choked it and it started right up. Got her up to WOT and buzzed around the lake a dozen times. I did it again, pulled the lanyard, came to a stop and it restarted, but nothing.

Partially seizing when hot? I can't see how this is anything else than the engine. Cause when i let it cool down for a day, it runs again...until i shut it off and try restarting it.

I mentioned in a previous post that i could not get a gauge until Tuesday(tommoro).....But come, whats the point, what the hell else could be wrong with it, this is not my carbs people. I have several certified mechanics that back me on it, why waste 20.00 bucks renting a tool.

But if ya all really wanna know, i will do one.

These carbs have been gone through and rebuild, including needles and seats last year......theres like 10 hours on them. They worked fine when i took them off to send the 1st motor back.\

This thing has not ran right from the get go, wet oily clean plugs at idle....hmmm.

It's the engine, and i wish people would quit saying carbs, cause ya all know it's not.

Breeched crank seal........maybe at high rpm it seats itself.

Just did a leakdown......to 10 psi, in a 15 miniute span it dropped 3 psi. Is that normal?

Sea-Doo book spec is 5 psi for 3 min. I'd say your block is fine.

                                so whats the problem here.

Idle all i get is wet oily plugs, i can wipe them and there like new. And it seems when it gets hot is the problem also.

run it for awhile, yank the lanyard, and the thing won't go again until it cools off. even then i have to feather it to get it WOT.

Any ideas people, this is just getting flat out ridiculous.

And whats with the backfiring. The timing is, no more than 2-3 degrees off. Ignition timing is fine, new oil pump, adjusted right.....and like i said, the carbs were gone through last year
