I just purchased a 'Battery Tender Junior' battery charger from my local dealer, and it came with a cool adapter that can be attached to the battery permanately and can be attached to the charger with a 'quick-connect' type plug. Can I charge my battery while it is installed in the ski? (GTX-RFI) It seem too good to be true!

Charge Battery in the Ski?

You shouldn't charge the battery while it is connected to the electrical system of the ski or it can damage some of the components. Here's a tip that worked for me: Instead of breaking out tools every time I want to charge my battery, I simply put a small marine battery disconnect switch on my negative cable which I picked up for around $10 at West Marine. Now I can quickly disconnect the battery with the flick of a switch to allow for charging. I turn the battery "off" whenever I'm not using it so the ECWI relay (or whatever else) doesn't slowly discharge the battery while it's parked in the garage and not in use. Be sure to protect all your connections as usual if you do this, and use proper ventilation while charging the battery.
