  • What kind of solvent(s) should I use to clean my engine components

Should I use an automotive/small engine cleaner, or is there something better to use? Should one type of solvent be used for one part, but not another?

I use Simple Green - it washes away oil and grime, along with salt deposits and doesn't harm the ski.

What's good for cleaning corrosion off a block? When you guys rebuild an engine, how do you get the paint and crap off for repainting?

No, I have a spare motor that I picked up that needs rebuilding. Still trying to decide if I want to make it a project or go the cheaper route and get a SBT motor.

We use a variety of blasting techniques on cores - nothing you can do at home or to a part you want to use without repainting.

You can see exactly how we do it by watching the Factory Tour - either in the Video section or off the front page of the site.
