  • Carb Question

    Bryan :
when I Removed the air intake box from the tops of the carbs on both boats there was no gasket at that interface. It looked like someone had applied a very thin gasket sealer at some time ( long ago). The air box was not stuck to the cars inany way, so the sealer certainly wasnt doing anything.

What is supposed to be used here ??

    Thanks

    Smitty

You don't need anything there. Not all skis use flame arresotor base gaskets.

The 951 use an O-ring on the carbs to keep in air and the water out. The lower section of the air box is a pivot point and the upper section is bolted on. When the bolt is tighten, the O-ring compresses. Did you see an O-ring on your carbs?
