  • 951 - BR8ES vs. BR9ES for high comp. engine??

    Guys,

I recently read somewhere that if you are running a high compression head on a 951 motor, it may be better to go with a BR9ES plug instead of a BR8ES because of a colder spark.

I don't know if anyone has any experience with this, but I thought I'd throw it out to see if anyone has used these plugs.

I'm running the BR8ES's with a .020" plug gap, BTW. If anyone knows anything better, please speak up!

It totally depends on the specific head design - some manufacturers/shops recommend one or the other heat range depending on what you have. In your case I don't think R&D recommends going colder.
