  • Sea Doo 717 High Temp Alarm

    Hi all,

Just installed a replacement engine in my 96 GTI (for the 2nd time). Runs great, except the high temp audible alarm goes off after it heats up. Never has this happened before. Checked water flow into and out of the block while engine is running and plenty of water is being pumped. The strange thing is the dummy light does not light up when the alarm sounds.

Any clues what to look for. Have 4 hours on the replacement engine

Try a new alarm sensor. They do go bad. But, make sure you really are not overheating the motor before you run it too long and hurt it.
You didn't reverse the two big black water hoses did you ? If so water is just running in one side and out the other, not circulating through the head and clyinders correctly.

Nope - Didn't reverse hose's, and water was coming out of the block. I'll try replacing the sensor.
      Thanks

Yep, happened to me before. It went away after a while.
