  • 1996 GSX

I have a 1996 GSX w/ 720cc motor. It has the DSS, I get the double beep then try to turn it over. I press start and nothing happens ... I do this a few times and eventually it turns over like nothing was wrong ? Any idea's where to start to look for a problem ?
Thanks for All the Help !<br />Blaine

When my 97 SPX (800 motor) did that same thing, it was the starter slowing going south. Had rusted pretty bad from too much water getting into the hull for a prolonged period. Nice, slow death until it no longer did anything.

A 1996 GSX is supposed to have a 787 or what is referred to as the "800" engine. That engine has several unique problems in regards to starters and ignition systems. Make sure that you have the correct model and engine type so we can provide the correct repair procedures and recommendations.

GSI models have 720 motors. GSX has 787 and GSXL has 951 motors.
