  • VTS Trouble Shoot

I am trying to repair the VTS system on my 96 XP. The only thing I have checked so far is the VTS motor. The motor is spinning fine both ways. Any ideas on where to start.

have you checked the fuses? but in the end you will probably have to replace the vts box

If I am correct, there are only 2 fuses. Both are fine. Is there a way to check the trim switch without replacing it.

Press and hold the trim switch while powered up and use a voltmeter to read the 12V or -12VDC going to the VTS plug.

Also did you find water in there because the seal boot on the VTS shaft in the rear by the pump might still have metal clamps that cut the boot. The replacement boot needs plastic clamps.... There was a service notice on this...
