Working on a 98 SPX that blows 5amp fuse on electronic module. Nothing works on unit.When I unplug from wire con from mag end of engine, short goes away but, I get no chirp of any kind when key is pluged in. No starter,VTS,nothing.
The onwer told me he jump started the unit+ left cables on unit to charge batt for a while. After about 20 min he ran unit about 30 min when all shut down.

Also would SBT have a procedure for checking out elect. components.(MPEM module)The box is very high dollar.
Any help would be nice.

) is a prime cause for blown MPEMs. There is no reliable way to test it. The service manual does give some resistance tests for the leads, but it really doesn't tell you if it's working or not.
