Red Goo between venturi assy and impeller hou

Quick question I had the venturi assy off my 96 GTX and in between the venturi assy and the impeller housing assy there was this red stuff it reminded me of thread locker, is that what it was? I put some clear RTV in there for the mean time is that ok? or should I take it apart again and put something else in there. Thanks Jeff

It is Loctite Gasket Eliminator 518. Clear RTV might be too weak for the high pressure there.
