So I just upgraded from a 98 XP LImited to a 2003 XP DI. Just picked up today. Ready for a long day Friday of break in. I'm very familiar with all the different ideas on break in, but noticed the manual said something I didn't expect for DI's. It actually calls for "brief wide open throttle accelerations of up to 15 seconds". What's up with that? I've never heard of any WOT during the first 10 hours.

Believe me, we've gone through a LOT of experimentation with DI's and break-in's lately. I STRONGLY urge you to baby the heck out of that DI until a full 10 hours. I would say brief WOT for no more than 10 seconds after 5+ hours.
