  • 2000 RX (951) piston size

I got some water in a 951 engine through a base gasket. After I pull engine off mine 2000 RX Jet Ski I found that in PTO cylinder piston and cylinder wall have some scratches. I plan to hone the bad cylinder and put new rings and piston. Since SBT does not sell standard size pistons I bought one from Sea Doo.
The piston has a stamp on it 87.89mm. My original piston is 87.91mm. Is an any problems using 87.89mm piston instead of 87.91mm? They told me Sea Doo do not make 87.91mm anymore.....

Those are both 'stock' size, you're fine.

Honing means to clean up and surface mars and insert a new cross-hatch. You hone a thou or so at a time, and if you need to hone so much material out that you are above max clearance, you need to bore to the next size piston.
