    do i have to use what the manual says to grease the shaft or can i use the same grease i use on my trailer wheels???? it a 2001 gsx rfi ....also same question for a 2001 polaris slx 1200

      it just say's it's all purpose grease but it say's it's water resistant..it's made by penzoil i think it's 302 grease.....what do you use on yours?????thanks in advance for info

        I use any brand that says Marine...I get it at West Marine, Wal-Mart, Boater's World, etc.

        Water resistant Penzoil should be fine.

              i went to buy some grease that actually said marine grease and it said you should mix diffrent types of grease...how am i suppossed to know what's already being used????it said cleane the area thorouly to remove any previouse grease and stuff but it's kinda hard to do when the shaft has that grommet and stuff on it and really isn't expossed so now what do i do????? all assitance is appreciated
