• Water Regulator adjustment

I am new to jetskiing, (if you couldn't tell by all of my questions) and I just wanted to know, where do you adjust the water regulator? and what is it's purpose? I have 2 98 XPL's. This is an awesome sight and I am learning sooooo much. I'm going thru a list that Bill O gave me and I need to check all these items, just gotta know where to look.....still haven't found out where the long line from the RAVE valves that runs under the engine connects to tho

    Thanks

Read my last answer then about rave valves.

The Water regulator doesn't need to be "adjusted". The oem setting works fine. The main problem with water regulators is if they leak water onto the muffler at high rpm while in the water. If so, the regulator needs to be replaced as it won't shut down the water supply to the exhaust system and will cause a loss in rpm.

But you can adjust it if you wish to. The rule of thumb is opposite of the way you set the rave valves. In other words, if you run the rave caps out towards the top of the cap, run the water regulator screwed down towards the bottom of the cap. You can play with them all you want to see where your motor likes them set.
