Yes I forgot the stator timing in some guides, but no it wouldn't stop it from starting. See this thread.

What is your fuel tank recall for ? Have you heard it bump off at least once with fuel in spark plug holes ?www.leximotorsports.com
606 TEAM LEXIMOTORSPORTS

2004 RXP

Rodney.
Please elobrate on the statement " For all I know it's not a different stator or flywheel"
Did you not use the stator and flywheel from the orginal motor out of this ski? Why don't you know for sure?

Did the motor disassemble very easy . Di it have many lose bolts. Could you tell if been taken apart? The bolts normally have paint on them that will chip off when touched by a wrench.www.leximotorsports.com
606 TEAM LEXIMOTORSPORTS

2004 RXP

Ok good, then we can assume that you have the correct stator and flywheel combo. I hope you are right, because if you are wrong, it will never run.
You have some spark, you have some fuel, you have some compression. It should run if the ignition and rotary valve timing is correct, and you have none of the other possible problems that we have discussed so far.Bill O'Neal WCM

A very common mistake is to connect the fuel "on" hose to the return fitting on the carb and vise-versa, putting the "return" line onto the "on" fitting.
The "on" fitting is always the lower of the two fittings on the carbs...... The hose that connects to it should go back to the fuel seperator/fuel filter bowl up under the front hood cover.
Did you ever get the motor to fire up after putting some fuel through the sparkplug holes?Bill O'Neal WCM

You agreed you getting spark. So i would look at fuel lines. Did you ever get your plugs wet with fuel yet ? By they way mine started with bad ignition but would limp. I had to rebuild electrical box because it had gotten filled with water and sit 2 yearwww.leximotorsports.com
606 TEAM LEXIMOTORSPORTS

2004 RXP

What Bill means by ignition timing is the point at which the spark occurs in relation to the position of the crank / piston. This has nothing to do with the solenoid which operates the starter motor.
This timing can be affected by incorrect positioning of the stator plate.
Don't know if it's already been mentioned - getting a long thread now - but are you trying to start it with a good strong battery. Although you are seeing a spark, Doos need a well charged battery to guarantee a spark good enough to start the ski.
Hope you find the problem soon and can start sleeping at nights again
