  • Won't crank/start with plugs in???????

Took plugs out, the ski cranks right over, with good compression both cylinders. Once I put the plugs in the ski won't crank over and there is a whinning noise heard. My first thought would be the starter?? Any other suggestions would be helpfull.
    Thanks Chris

Low battery voltage? That will do what you described.

Also, siezed pump bearings will do it too. Change the pump oil and look for water in the cone.

I removed the pump and drained the oil and all looks good and turns freely. The cables are pretty corroded as well as is the connections in the rear electrical box. You can actually hear a clicking noise from the rear electrical box.
        Thanks Chris

That's all in that thread...bad cable connections are the most common starting problem with Doo's I hear about.

If the whinning noise comes from the rear electrical box, you propably will be buying a starter solenoid (relay) soon..... First, try a known to be good battery, with clean cables.
