96 GSX RPM's

Posted earlier and left out some info...was told on here that WOT rpm's should be 6800...Just installed new motor...wear ring and impeller...i installed a solas X (16.5x23.5..is what solas says to run)....am only getting 6000 rpm's at WOT...How do i get the rpm's out to 6800 like they should be...Thanks...Hope this is enough info...

Put the stock impeller on, if possible.

A prop that is pitched too steep can steal
alot of RPMs. That may be your prob

Look to see if you have water stains on the top of the muffler right under the water regualtor. Does it look like it's been leaking? If so, replace it.
