  • running ski out of water

Well, thanks to everyone's wonderful help here at SBT I have finally managed to get my 95SPX completely put together and it's ready for testing and break in. Yeah!!!!

Prior to taking it out to the lake, I'd like to get it running in my driveway so I can check everything out, set the carbs etc. Am I safe to run it as long as I've got a hose hooked up to the water nozzle on the head (seems like a very small nozzle to get the engine enough water to keep it cooled properly)? If so, are there any tips or advice that I need to know (the engine is freshly rebuilt and has never been run, only turned over)?

    Thanks as always - Will

Yes you can start it and run it on the hose to check everything out. Remember to clamp the cooling line between your flush fitting and the head, and not run it more than 5 minutes on the hose. And of course NEVER have the water running without the engine running! See the video on how to flush for more tips on flushing - in the Video section of the forums.
