Just bought a 97 GSX today that only has 28 hours on it. Its always been run on the regular Seadoo injector oil(not XPS). I saw above that synthetic is needed due to the RAVE valves. Why? My GSX seens to run fine so far. My KDX dirt bike has a power valve system that makes RAVE look primitive and I have excellent results running BG oil in it and it's nonsynthetic. I understand the low ash for the rotary valve but not synthetic for the RAVE. Does dino oil gum then up or what.

    Thanks
    Jason

Exactly. It's just a cleaning issue, not part actuation. You may need to clean your RAVE system every 30-40 hours for optimum performance, if you use a non-synthetic, althought he 800 series is much more forgiving than the 951.

Thanks Bryan I'll just stick with the regular oil then. I like taking stuff apart to play with it anyway? :D
