  • broken engine mount - 96xp

    Okay, simple question.

I was out riding this past weekend and i ended up breaking and engine mount. After i replace this, will i have to realign the motor or is this just plug and play?

    thanks!

It should be as easy as a replacement if you reuse any shims that you might find under the mount, as long as you leave the other motor mount bolts tight.

      okay,
i'm a complete tool. i decided to remove the engine from the rear engine mounts to check them and make sure that they were fine. The front mount was broken. I never removed the actual mounts from the boat.Would it be okay to put it all back without realigning everything? I do have to replace the front mount completely :(

One at a time, no prob - both out, realign.

okay i ordered the alignment tool. How difficult is it going to be to align? I understand there are shims? are they something i need to purchase or will they come with the new mount?

          thanks again!

Most skis already have enough shims to reuse, if you need more they are available at any dealer.
