  • engine rattle at Idle

    Hi again
I have 1990 seadoo gt, first time out this weekend with it, engine runs like a top, At idle the engine makes a rattle and vibrates hard, I am lost for what is doing it, it is just like a motor mount loose and shaking, But it is very tight. The slightest bit above idle and it is gone and smooth as a kitten. I could describe it as almost a knocking noise, you would almost think the crank is coming out of the machine. other than that the machine runs fine and wide open is just smooth, other than the small oil leak at the rotory plate that I have wroye about earlier. Any help, or is this normal, I hope it is not normal.

Sounds like the pipe is hitting on the inside of the deck.

That sounds exactly like how my 91XP is. I was told that it's because the driveshaft isn't helt tightly in place and it's banging around, and they're all like that, accept it. I am not one to argue with Bill though.

the same thing was happening to my raider but it turned out to be the bendix rattling around.
