SPX Gas Tank

I have a '95 SPX with a leak in the gas tank. The leak is on the part where the filler hose clamps. There is a crack about an inch long right below the ridge that the hose slips over. What can I do to fix this? Is there an epoxy that will take care of this or does the tank have to be replaced? If so, what's involved in replacing the gas tank? I'm not sure that it will come out of the storage compartment door. It looks like the engine may have to be removed? If anybody's dealt with this before, I'd love to know how you fixed it. Thanks!

there is a recall on them tanks,if you are the original owner you should get one for free!
