  • Impros repitching Skat Swirl prop

I have an overpitched 17-23 Skat Swirl that only runs the boat at 6600 rpm.
The stock impellor runs at 6780 rpm with no tuning changes. Should be running
6940 rpm. I have FA and rejet, can't remember the settings right now, but the
plugs are really black and oily, so I have to tune down the top end.

I sent email to impros yesterday morning for a cost estimate and turn around time,
and have heard nothing back yet. Could impros get this swirl turning 6940,
like I was told it would when I bought it ? What is the best way to contact impros?

    Thanks

Tune the boat first. Maybe that prop is fine.

Guess you're reading my tuning thread, too !

I was thinking of trying the swirl again, now that my rpms are up.
With the swirl, I had around 6600.
With the stock (and no tuning changes) I had 6780 rpm.
With tuning on the stock prop, it's at 6850 rpm.

You think if I put the swirl on, I will have the 6600 rpm plus the 70 rpm I got from tuning?

Or do you think the properties of the swirl will
increase the rpm to higher or the same as the stock prop?

          Just curious - thanks again

I started to put the swirl back on last nite,
then realized that I was out of cone oil !

But with how much the stock prop 'woke up'
with the hi screw adjustment, I am pretty confident that the swirl is really going to scream !

I hope to turn at least 6800 with the swirl, but what is really important to me is the acceleration, so hope fully that will be killer!

              Thanks again Bill
