Installing jets 99 xpl

What's the easiest way to put in jets and clean filters on a 99 xp. Do you guys just remove head pipe assy or can you reach them to remove.I figure you would leave linkages on and service??? Thanks, Clifton

You do not need to remove the headpipe to remove the carbs. You must move the oil tank out of the way to get the flame arresstor out.

The linkages are not a problem, remove them. To keep from having to re-adjust the throttle cable and oil cable, remove the bracket from the front end of the carbs with the cables still attached.
