broke thrust bolt and bent shaft!!!

Was riding today and went to do 360 and BANG,felt like something snapped.Well I got the ski home and took pump housing off and the thrust bolt was broke off in the prop and the shaft was bent,thrust bearing and all other bearing and seals are fine.what may have caused this to happen?last time I took it out was 1 month ago and the ski ran fine.Oh yea its a 92 sp with yellow motor.Ski has ran fine for several years.I do have big open intake grate and may be posible that something unseen was sucked up.Wear wing all scared up from prop

Yes that happens now and then.

I have a GSXL that came in yesterday with a piece of the scoop grate caught between the impellor and the wear ring. The pump housing was split open like a smashed cantalope. The driveshaft and impellor both have stripped splines.
