oil light

the machine is a 97 daytona 770
the oil tank is full and the pump seems to be workin
the oil level light stays on

what would be the problem and how do we correct it

Find the gauge on top of the oil tank and follow the wire harness a little way to the connector. I think it is green. Unplug the wire and press the bilge button. If the oil light does not light then the problem is in the sending unit, replace it. If the light stays on then the problem is in the gauge or wire harness. You can leave the sending unit unpluged if you make sure you fill or check the tank every ride.

That was, Find the oil sending unit on top of the oil tank not the gauge.
