  • 95 TS Daytona head gasket

Does anyone know an easier way to replace the cylinder head gasket between the cylinders and the top plate on the 640? The purple exhaust is in the way of one of the bolts, and the only way we can figure to get around it is to somehow back the exhaust off the engine a bit. If we can't find some way to do this, we will be forced to pull the motor again (which probably won't get done this year).

Also, are those bolts on the one use only torque bolts, or is there a specific torque setting they should be tightened to? We managed to blow the head gasket by not paying attention to the torque settings on these 11 bolts.

    Thanks

I've never tried a head gasket swap in the hull of that particular ski, so I dont' know if the exhaust must come off first, but it might. It's typical to have to remove components to remove a head in a ski.

The bolts are normal, use Blue Loctite and torque to 11 then 22 ft./lbs.
